Ruth Landon

Ruth L. Landon, age 89, of Northfield, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.

Ruth LaVonne Landon was born on January 12, 1929 in Farmington, the daughter of Thomas and Jennie (Holum) Hallanger. She grew up there and graduated from Farmington High School. On July 23, 1948 Ruth was united in marriage to Byron C. Landon. Ruth was a very quiet, private person who took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, doing puzzles, playing cards, cooking, and being a caretaker to many.

Survivors include her children Jeff (Sandy) Landon, Candace (Wayne) Hallcock, LeAnn (Tim) Byers, Byron (Cindy) Landon, Kristine (Mark) Haan, Todd (Kim) Landon, and Ruth Ann (Mike) Schroeder; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, her husband Byron, and her grandson Charlie, and her siblings.

A memorial visitation will be from 2-4:00 pm on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Highway 19 Blvd., Cannon Falls, MN  55009. Interment will be in the Cannon Falls Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
