Sharon Johnson (née Larson), beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025 at the age of 84.
Born on May 4, 1941, in Red Wing, MN, to Florence and Tom Larson, Sharon grew up with a deep love for family that carried throughout her life. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School and built a successful career in sales, while raising her children as a single mother. Sharon had a strong community of friends and loved serving and helping other women. She carried a deep faith in God that was reflected in all areas of her life.
Her greatest passion in life was spending time with her family, celebrating milestones, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories. She devoted her days to caring for her children and grandchildren and took great joy in watching her family grow across generations.
Sharon is survived by her three children: Julaina Owen; Jamie (Lonny) Pickerign; and Mark (Kristen) Kells. She was the proud grandmother of James Matson; David Wolkenhauer; Bethany (Chris) Wolkenhauer; Brianna Owen; Adam (Katy) Pickerign; Brandon Pickerign; Bryce (Bailey) Pickerign; Danielle (Patrick) Lemieux; Lindsey (Skye) Kells; and Amren Kells. She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years. Also holding a special place in Sharon’s life was granddaughter by heart Tiffaney, and special mentor Jane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Tom Larson, 9 siblings, and son-in-law Ed Owen, who welcomed her home with open arms.
Sharon will always be remembered for her unconditional love, kindness, and dedication to her family. She had a smile that would light up a room, amazing warm hugs, and could make her grandchildren feel like they hung the moon. She would spend hours playing cards with her family (seldom lost a game) and was known for her love of her morning mocha - made exactly how she liked it! Her love and legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held to celebrate Sharon’s life and legacy, Friday, September 12th from 4-8pm at Lundberg Funeral Home, 5839 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, MN 55009.
