Sheila Kim (Tucker) Birkel, age 56 of Cannon Falls, MN peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, December 23, 2012, as a result of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Sheila was born to Roger and Beverly (Kluss) Fuelling on December 3, 1956 in Decorah, IA. She graduated from MFL High School in Monona, IA in 1975. She married Kevin Tucker; they had three children together and later divorced. On October 8, 2011, she married Stan Birkel in Cannon Falls, MN. She worked at Midwest of Cannon Falls for 12 years, and Lutheran Social Services in Cannon Falls for 5 years. An active member of Riverwood Community Church, she was blessed with a large church family. Sheila had a caring and gentle heart and was always willing to help those in need. She worked extensively with the disabled. She will be remembered for her strong faith, cheerful nature, and extreme kindness. She is survived by her husband, Stan; her children, Truman (Leah) Tucker of Byron, Ben (Ciara) Tucker of Cannon Falls, and Ryan (Shannon) Tucker of South St. Paul; Stan's children; 10 grandchildren; 3 nieces and nephews; her parents, Roger Fuelling and Beverly Fuelling of Monona, IA; brother, Randy Fuelling of Monona, IA; sisters, Jodi (Wayne) Welch of McGregor, IA and Melissa (Steve) Haberichter of Monona, IA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Myrtle Kluss and Carlton and Gretchen Fuelling. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10-11 a.m., at Riverwood Community Church, 5343 Hwy 19 Blvd, Cannon Falls, with Pastor Dan Feldkamp and Pastor Paul Paurus officiating. Memorials may be given in Sheila's memory to Riverwood Community Church.
