Thomas Lynch

Thomas Joseph Lynch Jr., age 73 of Cannon Falls, died on Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Thomas Joseph was born on January 29, 1940 in St. Paul, the son of Thomas Sr. and Dorothy (DeMont) Lynch. He left high school to serve with the US Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1960. He later received his GED. Tom was a heavy equipment mechanic for MN Tractor in Bloomington, and later was a heavy equipment mechanic instructor at Dakota County Technical College for 29 years. He retired in 2002. He was a 29 year resident of Sogn Valley, where he was an avid hunter, and had been a member of the Cannon Valley Archers. He enjoyed metal work, blacksmithing, and was one damn good mechanic! He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terrance. He is survived by his children, Mike (Kelly Jo) of Fountain City, WI, Cheryl (Bob) Young of Cokato, Pat of Tecumseh, NE, Kelly Nordby of Hartland, WI and Jim (Wendy) of Apple Valley; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. **Please note change: A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 753 Front Ave., St. Paul. A luncheon will follow at his son, Jim's home. Casket bearers will be Bob and Adam Young, Matt Nordby, John and Jeremiah Lynch, and Mitch Kohanek.
