Clarence “Cully” Harold Arneson was born on May 2, 1926, Minneapolis, MN to Alf and Anna Arneson. He joined Jesus in heaven on September 8, 2020, at the age of 94. Cully was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Cully graduated from Minneapolis Vocational High School. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1944 to June 1946. Cully served the Mpls. Police Dept. from May 1948 to May 1976, 14 years with the Fifth Precinct and 14 years with the Juvenile Division.

Cully married Joan Blake on June 15, 1959, and had three children Tami, Larry, and Jodi.

Cully came to personal faith in Jesus on the family farm in Luck, WI in 1979 at age 53. His life was transformed, and he began sharing his faith freely in conversations with everyone. He was well known for saying “Jesus loves you, and so do I.”

He was preceded in death by his first wife Joan on December 29, 1984.

The Lord brought ViAnn Olson into his life, and they were married on May 24, 1986. While they lived in Luck, WI, Cully and ViAnn were actively involved with Fredric Evangelical Free Church. Cully drove the senior citizen Care-a-Van for 7 years. Cully and ViAnn’s children Tami (Kurt) Wisner, Larry Arneson, Kevin (Pam) Olson, and Glenn (Anne) Olson together with their families enjoyed many memories at the Luck farm, which were truly treasured times.

In 2006, Cully and ViAnn moved to Cannon Falls, MN. New Life Evangelical Free Church of Hastings, MN, became their church family. While in Cannon Falls, they have often hosted gatherings for family and friends.

Cully was preceded in death by his parents Alf and Anna, wife Joan, daughter Jodi, grand-daughter Mariah and 10 siblings. Cully and ViAnn have 4 children, 20 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

The family funeral service will be on Saturday, September 19 at 11:00 am with the visitation at 10:00 am. The funeral will be streamed online at the New Life Evangelical Free Facebook page. Lundberg Funeral Home is assisting the family.
