Donald L. Reemts, age 79, of Cannon Falls passed away at his home February 13, 2021.

He was born at St. Mary’s in Rochester, MN on May 8, 1941 to Milton & Marcella Linneman. Marcella divorced & later married Vernon Reemts who then adopted Don.

Don is survived by his wife, Rose (Shay) of 39 years, they were united in marriage on February 6, 1982. Don is also survived by his children, Patrick Thompson of Andover, Michelle (Patrick) Mulcare of Naperville, IL., Kyle (Kelly) Shay of Randolph, Chris (Renae) Shay of Des Moines, IA., John Patrick (Debra) Shay of Bloomington, David (Brenda Bernardy) Shay of Lakeville, and Kathy (John) Dawson of Fort Myers, FL. and his 15 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren.

Don spent a lot of his summers as a child with his Grandparents in South Dakota helping on the family farm. While on the farm he learned how to drive truck, from there, he was always on the go in one mode of transportation or another. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in South Minneapolis in 1959. He then attended Minneapolis Business College and Dunwoody College. He also worked towards and earned his private pilots license. He was also a member of the Eagles, Minneapolis chapter #34.

His career of over the road trucking began at a young age & through the years put on a million miles and more, always saying “I’ve been everywhere.” Along with his passion of going everywhere and seeing everything he had a love for classic cars and when he wasn’t on the road you could find him at car show. He passed this love on to his family. Don enjoyed his life on the lake, admiring the beauties of nature through sunsets, the calming water, and animals – oh how Don enjoyed taking care of animals. While on the lake his family grew, and Don loved to be able to share the joys of nature with his family.

Memorial services for Don will be held at a later date. Lundberg Funeral Home is assisting the family.
