Eric Aalgaard

Eric Allan Aalgaard, age 64 of Red Wing, died on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Eric was born on June 4, 1957 in St. Charles, Illinois, the son of Allan and Gladys (Bany) Aalgaard. He grew up in Minnetonka and Kenyon and attended Kenyon High School.

He has been a Red Wing resident and employed by ProAct for the last 32 years. The family is thankful and appreciative of the great care Eric received at REM in Red Wing.

Eric enjoyed spending time with his family, especially visiting with his nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allan Aalgaard; stepfather, Orwoll Olson; and sisters, Cynthia Vogel and Lynn Aalgaard Berquam.

He is survived by his mother, Gladys Aalgaard Olson of Eden Prairie; and seven nieces and their families, Christine (Eric) Johnson, Jennifer Berquam, Katy (Tyler) Vrieze, Valerie (Todd) Kohorst, Kelcey Vogel, Kirstin Vogel, and Kaitlin Vogel; and aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 11:00 am at Urland Lutheran Church, Cannon Falls, with visitation from 10:00-11:00 am at the church pavilion. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Masks are required indoors.
