Kimberlie J. Mallet, age 36, of Cannon Falls, died Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Cannon Falls.

Kimberlie Joan Mallet was born on October 12, 1984 in St. Paul, the daughter of Gary and Julie (Farrier) Mallet. She attended Farmington Elementary School before moving to Cannon Falls in the sixth grade. Kim graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 2003. Known as a very caring, outgoing, and loving person, Kim showed this by going to work in the Care Center at the age of 14. She had various jobs since those days, working for a time at Gemstar, but people will remember her as a cashier at Family Fare. She always had a kind word, a smile, and a genuine interest in other people. In 2005 Kim was married to Mike Otterness. They had a daughter, Kamryn Marie, and a son, Karsyn Douglas. The couple later divorced. Kim was a member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church.

Kim played the clarinet in the high school band. She played hockey, basketball, and softball, but her favorite of them all was softball. She loved spending time outdoors and going four-wheeling, riding the mini bike, and going snowboarding. She was a natural comedian; she could walk into a room and make everyone laugh with little to no effort. She wasn’t afraid to embarrass herself to make someone smile. She loved trying to figure out what was wrong with her car, and try to fix it herself and was very mechanically inclined. She was very artistic, and loved getting tattoos. Every tattoo had a special meaning for her, and she loved to share the stories with anyone who asked. She loved her kids and all her nieces and nephews with all her heart, and would always play with them whenever she saw them. She will be fondly remembered for being unapologetically herself, no matter what anyone thought of her.

Survivors include her children Kamryn and Karsyn; her parents, Gary and Julie (Farrier) Mallet; sisters Krista Mallet, Katie Mallet, and Kasey (Josh) Krie; grandma Joanne Farrier; nieces and nephews Amira, Keyan, Rylan, Rayden, Rayne, Kaia, and Landon; several aunts and uncles; as well as many cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Charlie and Betty Mallet and Bill Farrier.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kim Mallet Memorial Fund at Merchants Bank in Cannon Falls.

A walk-through, socially distanced visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4-7:00 pm at Lundberg Funeral Home. Covid-19 protocols will be enforced.
