Marie Margaret Norstad passed away on December 24, 2021, at the age of 96 years at Cannon Rivers Senior Living, Cannon Falls.

Marie was born on December 20, 1925, in St. Paul, MN, to Herbert and Emma (Kasper) Pirrung.  She married Victor Norstad on February 26, 1949, at Newport Lutheran Church.  She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Randolph, Mn.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Victor (1987); son, Duane (2014) and infant son, Paul; sister, Fay Chester; brother, Frank Pirrung; and brothers-in-law, Ray Chester and Bill Bailey.   She is survived by her children, Donald (Candie), Betty Teske (Ed) and Dennis; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Eunice Bailey, Shirley Gergen (Paul), and Rosemary Pirrung; brothers, Bob Pirrung (Florence) and Billy Pirrung (Dorothy); and nieces and nephews.

Marie’s favorite place was home. She loved listening to country music, gardening and canning.  African Violets were her favorite flower to grow, and her favorite color was blue. Marie enjoyed sewing, embroidery and many plastic canvas projects.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Randolph. This service will be live-streamed and available to watch below. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Randolph.
