Patricia Ann “Pat” Chytracek, age 83 of Hastings, died on Tuesday evening, April 28, 2020 at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Pat was born on June 5, 1936 in Cannon Falls, MN, the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Schiller) Chytracek. She graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1954 and went on to work at Smead Manufacturing in Hastings for 47 years, retiring in 2001.

She loved to play Bingo and had been on a bowling league in Cannon Falls for many years. She was an avid MN Vikings and MN Twins fan, and also loved her T.I. Casino trips to play slots!

She will be remembered most for her love of family. She is survived by her brothers, Allan of Cannon Falls and Dana of Hastings; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene and Gerald; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Lee; and sister-in-law, Ione Chytracek.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. Pius V Catholic Cemetery, Cannon Falls.

As you watch the video below, these are the words that Wanda shared (inaudible in many parts.):
As you know, Pat was a very special person… She was generous and loving, and she touched everyone’s life in one way or another. She would give help to anyone who needed it, and if she couldn’t, she’d find a way…and never asked for anything in return. We all loved her and she will be missed.

Today Pat would have been 84 years old, so after the last song…before the last song, we will go to the car and everybody (we only have 25 balloons) and we’re just gonna, after the last song is over, we’re just going to send up the balloons and say “Happy Birthday in Heaven.” Also, I want to thank Kathy for helping me… I wouldn’t have gotten through this without her! And lunch is going to be at Kathy’s house, which is just right up the hill (gray house with white shutters.) So we’ll have lunch. Also, thanks to Robin and Shannon… they purchased the stone (memory stone) that’s going to be put at the Cannon Valley Fair gardens, in memory of Pat.

I’d like to say a verse that I thought was really appropriate. It’s called “God’s Garden.” God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful…He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough, and the hills are hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you the day God called you home.
